Love surpasses the Law

I figured that since Forest has spent a good deal of time talking about love , I will keep up the theme and talk about one of My favorite story's In the bible.

Joh 8:4  They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
Joh 8:5  Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
Joh 8:6  This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
Joh 8:7  So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Joh 8:8  And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
Joh 8:9  And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
Joh 8:10  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
Joh 8:11  She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Here a group of accusers brought a dirty sinner who by law should have been stoned to death for her sin. Just like many other laws that many in this day think we should still enforce such as homosexuality and idle worship.

So many times I have heard people ridicule and condemn others for choosing the wrong life style and or beliefs. Just like these men who wanted to kill these lady for having a bad life style.
Please notice what Jesus did, better yet notice what he didn't do! He didn't condemn her, he used conviction to change her. Was she wrong and immoral , Yes , was she guilty, Yes ,  should she have been stoned to death according to the old testament law,Yes, did Jesus kill her, stone her, condemn her, or make fun of her, NO...... Why not.
If Jesus would have stoned her, she would have never had the chance to repent and turn from her evil ways.
He simply loved her to much to allow her turn to burn in hell. Jesus's love for her surpassed the law. If we constantly attack people and throw spiritual stones at them we are not giving them the chance of repentance. We essentially are dooming them to an eternal hell.

In short, to love some one is to try to help them see the light, not beat them with the lantern.

By the way where was the man she got caught with and why didn't they try to stone him too:
