Trust in God
We have talked about faith and love. And we must have them both but faith means little without trust. I can say I have faith in God but until I take the next step and give complete control of my life over to God and trust that God will lead me on the path he has for me my faith is hollow. I have walked the path of faith without trust and it was a chaotic path without meaning or direction. I was trying make my own way and telling myself that this was what God wanted me to do and I found myself getting farther and farther away from god. When I finally surrender myself to Gods will and put my trust in God, I found purpose, direction, peace, and happiness. My life became easy. You do not have to understand God's plan in order to trust God with control of your life.

Wisdom
Webster defines wisdom as the judicious application of knowledge. It is a deep understanding and realization of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to apply perceptions, judgments, and actions in keeping with this understanding. It often requires control of one's emotional reactions (the "passions") so that universal principles, reason, and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions. Wisdom is also the comprehension of what is true coupled with optimum judgment as to action.
The Bible says the following about wisdom
Proverbs 4:5-9 ERV Try to get wisdom and understanding. Don't forget my teaching or ignore what I say. (6) Don't turn away from wisdom, and she will protect you. Love her, and she will keep you safe. (7) "The first step to becoming wise is to look for wisdom, so use everything you have to get understanding. (8) Love wisdom, and she will make you great. Hold on to wisdom, and she will bring you honor. (9) Wisdom will reward you with a crown of honor and glory."
I find that wisdom realizes how little I actually know and that there are things that I may never understand. To be a truly wise person we must accept that wisdom comes from God and that it is a gift.
1 Corinthians 1:17-26 Christ did not give me the work of baptizing people. He gave me the work of telling the Good News. But he sent me to tell the Good News without using clever speech, which would take away the power that is in the cross of Christ. (18) The teaching about the cross seems foolish to those who are lost. But to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. (19) As the Scriptures say, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will confuse the understanding of the intelligent." (20) So what does this say about the philosopher, the law expert, or anyone in this world who is skilled in making clever arguments? God has made the wisdom of the world look foolish. (21) This is what God in his wisdom decided: Since the world did not find him through its own wisdom, he used the message that sounds foolish to save those who believe it. (22) The Jews ask for miraculous signs, and the Greeks want wisdom. (23) But this is the message we tell everyone: Christ was killed on a cross. This message is a problem for Jews, and to other people it is nonsense. (24) But Christ is God's power and wisdom to the people God has chosen, both Jews and Greeks. (25) Even the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom. Even the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. (26) Brothers and sisters, God, chose you to be his. Think about that! Not many of you were wise in the way the world judges wisdom. Not many of you had great influence, and not many of you came from important families.
So True wisdom is the wisdom of God and not the wisdom of man.

The Lighthouse in the Storm
2 Corinthians 4:8-13 ERV (8) We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We often don't know what to do, but we don't give up. (9) We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed. (10) So we constantly experience the death of Jesus in our own bodies, but this is so that the life of Jesus can also be seen in our bodies. (11) We are alive, but for Jesus we are always in danger of death, so that the life of Jesus can be seen in our bodies that die. (12) So death is working in us, but the result is that life is working in you. (13) The Scriptures say, "I believed, so I spoke." Our faith is like that too. We believe, and so we speak.
No matter how hard the winds may blow or how dark the clouds of the storm of life may be the Lord will always be the Lighthouse and he will always guide us to safe harbor.
Mark 4:35-39 ERV That day, at evening, Jesus said to his followers, "Come with me across the lake." (36) So they left the crowd behind and went with Jesus in the boat he was already in. There were also other boats that went with them. (37) A very bad wind came up on the lake. The waves were coming over the sides and into the boat, and it was almost full of water. (38) Jesus was inside the boat, sleeping with his head on a pillow. The followers went and woke him. They said, "Teacher, don't you care about us? We are going to drown!" (39) Jesus stood up and gave a command to the wind and the water. He said, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind stopped, and the lake became calm.

God's Guiding Hand
This morning we got up and went out to see if we could find a car that was within our budget. We went out to see what we could find thinking we would check a couple by-here/pay-here places and and see what we could find. The first place we visited (which from what we had looked at online was likely to be our best bet) turned out to be a complete bust. The cars looked nothing like the picture on there website.
We moved on and was headed to another place we had seen online that had a couple of cars we like. On our way we stopped at another place just because there was a Mercury Sable Wagon that looked very nice. We got there and talked with the salesman Marc about the car. The car just wasn't in our budget. Marc suggest we go talk to Don Brown at Modern Auto. Instead of continuing the direction we were headed we turned around and went back to Modern Auto.
As we began to work with Don, God began to revile to us that this is where we were to buy a car. When we first arrived and met Don he said "I'm not your typical car salesman" then he began to explain that we had a couple options "I can give you a list of the cars and prices and let you walk around and deceived which ones you like and want to drive and I'll get you the keys or I can walk with you and show you what I got that might work for you" He said. We had him walk with us. As we went about the process of finding the right car we learned more about Don. After an exchange of business cards I learned that Don was Pentecostal. While we were test driving a car Don looked at My profile on Loving church's website and told me how much he related to my story. When his phone rang it played some Scottish folk music, which I happen to listen to often. We got the message God was sending to us and we bought the car and thanked God for providing it to us. I just like to add if your looking for a car go see Don at Modern Auto. This is our 2005 Chevy Impala.

Who's watching me?
In the news theses days you read all about how the NSA is reading all our emails and everything we say on the phone or post on the internet. People are all up in arms about this and say this is wrong. I have decided that it is a good thing. I know what your all thinking this is crazy. I now think this is a gift from God. I have been provided a way to reach people I never would have had a chance to reach. I also get to share the word of God with with people who's only job it is it to read what I write. So I say in every email, text message, and web posting share the world of God. When you talk to your friends and family on the phone share a bible verse.
So to the NSA agent that may have to read this.
John 13:34-35 "I give you a new command: Love each other. You must love each other just as I loved you. (35) All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other."
May God Bless you and keep you safe. Email me if you would like to talk more about the Good news God has for us.

When Life is Overwelming
Have you ever had one of those days, weeks, or months that you feel like no matter what you do life keeps beating you down? People around you say "You to look on the bright side..." or "Well at least it can't get much worse". You think to yourself, "If you know how bad things are right and you saw were things are going for me you would say that.". I've Been there before. Just yesterday I was driving to the store when the transmission on my car went out without warning. I was at a stop sign press on the ground and it sounded like my transmission had just fallen out of the car. I had to walk home about a mile in the hot humid evening in Florida. As I was walking home I could have been saying "Why God did you let this happen to me?" but I didn't. I was thanking him that it didn't happen when we were on a trip to one of our parents houses. I know your thinking the this is no where close to what you are going through. Well Ill tell you I was at the point where I was ready to end my life because I though there was nothing left to live for. It was at that time that I got done on my knees and prayed. and I truly gave up control of my life to God. this was the hardest thing I had ever done in my life.
In the words of David if you surrender your will to God you will be blessed
Psalms 23:1-6 KJV A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (2) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. (3) He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (4) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (5) Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (6) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
This is the hard part knowing when your listening to Gods voice and not doing what you think God would want you to do.
In John 10:24-30 ERV Jesus is taliking "The Jewish leaders gathered around him. They said, "How long will you make us wonder about you? If you are the Messiah, then tell us clearly." (25) Jesus answered, "I told you already, but you did not believe. I do miracles in my Father's name. These miracles show who I am. (26) But you do not believe, because you are not my sheep. (27) My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow me. (28) I give my sheep eternal life. They will never die, and no one can take them out of my hand. (29) My Father is the one who gave them to me, and he is greater than all. No one can steal my sheep out of his hand. (30) The Father and I are one."

You notice in Verse 27 Jesus says "My sheep know my voice" . God talks to all of us everyday, we just have to learn to listen to him.

Memorial Day
- Dear Heavenly Father,
As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our servicemen and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and your presence as they stand in the gap for our protection.
We also remember the families of our troops. We ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes, and we pray your peace, provision, and strength will fill their lives.
May the members of our armed forces be supplied with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support.
In the name of Jesus. Amen.
